ISM Patna (09 September 2024)–International School of Management (ISM), Patna, a premier educational institution in the region, inaugurated its three-day "Deeksharambh" 2024 orientation programme for the incoming first-semester students of PGDM, BBA, BCA, B. Com, and BJMC. The event marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for the students, setting the stage for a vibrant and enriching learning experience.
The inaugural session was graced by the Honourable Chairman of ISM, Sri Samrendra Singh, Vice-Chairman Sri Deval Singh, Secretary Sri Amal Singh, and Director Dr. Vijay Bahadur Singh. Their presence underscored the commitment of ISM to provide quality education and foster an environment conducive to academic excellence and personal growth.
Ms. Pooja Dubey, Head of the Department of Management, extended a warm welcome to the new students and provided an insightful introduction to ISM Patna. She highlighted the institution's mission, values, and the unique opportunities available to students for their holistic development.
A special highlight of the inaugural session was the felicitation of distinguished guest speakers by Dr. Vijay Bahadur Singh, Director of ISM. The honoured guests included Dr. A. M. Prasad, a retired IRS officer and seasoned speaker; Mr. Vibhash Ranjan, Managing Partner at Sarita Food Patna; and Mr. Praveen M. Lal, HR Head (Bihar) at Reliance Jio. Their presence added immense value to the programme, offering students an opportunity to learn from industry stalwarts.
In his address, Dr. Vijay Bahadur Singh emphasized the importance of adapting to the evolving demands of the corporate world and encouraged students to develop a proactive approach to their education. He reiterated ISM Patna’s dedication to nurturing talent and producing graduates who are not only academically proficient but also possess the employability skills needed to excel in their careers.
The orientation also featured a dynamic panel discussion on the theme "Meeting Corporate Expectations through Employability Skills," with industry experts and academicians sharing their insights. The discussion gave students a deeper understanding of the current job market trends and the skills required to meet corporate expectations.
Dr. A. M. Prasad said principles of discipline, ethics, adaptability, alertness, never-ending curiosity and concern for society could enhance the students' personality with the help of their experienced faculty members and the commendable infrastructure of ISM Patna.
Mr Vibhash Ranjan congratulated the students on being part of this prestigious institute and advised them to think about ‘why’ and ‘how’, networking and the law of attraction. Mr. Praveen M. Lal highlighted five mantras i.e. adaptability, emotion management, never-ending learning process, learning to push oneself and networking with the right people to enhance employability skills
Ms. Pooja Dubey took the stage once again to outline the code of conduct at ISM Patna, emphasizing its significance in personality enhancement and professional growth. She stressed the importance of discipline, integrity, and active participation in shaping a successful academic and professional journey.
The first day of the programme, dedicated to PGDM students, concluded with a motivational movie followed by experiential learning activities designed to inspire and engage students. These activities are part of ISM Patna’s unique approach to education, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experiences to foster a well-rounded learning environment.
The "Deeksharambh" orientation programme will continue over the next two days, with sessions tailored to the specific needs of BBA, BCA, B. Com, and BJMC students. The programme aims to equip all new students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to thrive at ISM Patna and beyond.
