Celebration of Bihar Diwas-2023

Under the guidance of Director, Professor (Dr.) R. K. Singh, International School of Management Patna celebrated Bihar Diwas with great enthusiasm and zeal on Wednesday, 22 March. Bihar Diwas marks the formation of the state of Bihar and is celebrated every year on March 22nd. The event was organized in three sessions, photography and painting competition on the theme of cultural heritage of Bihar, expert talk by eminent economist Prof. Singh, and cultural programme performed by 50 participants of first year students. 

The event commenced with a lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Director along with all the faculty members of the institute followed by welcome song and Maithili dance  performed by the students. In the inaugural session of the programme more than 800 first year students got motivated with an insightful deliberation of the Director sir on the theme of “Energetic Youth: Elevated Province”. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Bihar is a state rich in culture, heritage, and tradition. For a couple of decades, the statistical progress graph of this beautiful province has shown a great relationship between energetic youth engagement and elevation of the province to new heights.”

Further he highlighted the role of education in preparing young people for leadership roles, the importance of mentorship and networking for youth success, the challenges faced by young entrepreneurs, and the impact of youth activism on social change. “The mission of our institute, one of the best business schools of the state, has been to produce such leaders and CEOs every year, who could contribute to the development of the province by maximising their potential. It believes that young people are the future of the province, and their energy, creativity, and passion can be harnessed to drive progress and development”, he said.

Through various cultural programmes the participants showcased the diversity, historicity and vibrancy of the state brilliantly. The students presented appreciable impact of entrepreneurship development schemes of Government of Bihar and MSME programmes of Central Government on the youth of the province through their skits. The Bihar Textile Fashion Show exhibited by the students under the supervision of Assistant Professor of Journalism, Ms. Neetu Kumari, was one of the best performances of the programme. At the same time great cultural heritage was reflected in the Madhubani Paintings and Patna Kalam made the students in photography and painting competition. Students from the different linguistic regions of Bihar showcased their rich culture and heritage through various performances like traditional dances, music, and drama. 

The event was attended by students, faculty members, and staff of ISM. The Head of Cultural Committee, Ms. Shilpi Kavita said, “The celebration of Bihar Diwas every year in our institute provides a great opportunity for students to learn about the state and its deep-rooted heritage, and it also serves as a platform for students to demonstrate their talents and creativity.” 

The event was organized by the Rangmanch Wing of Cultural Committee in association with the student volunteers. All the cultural programmes were prepared under the supervisions of the experts, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Bharati, Mr. Abhishek Panday, Ms. Bhavna Kumari and Ms. Sushmita Soni. The programme ended with National Anthem.
