The purpose of Deeksharambh - Student Induction Programme is to help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the institution, help them build bonds with other students and faculty members, and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self exploration.
A four-day orientation programme “Deeksharambh” 2022 for the BBA, BCA, B. Com and BJMC students was organised on Tuesday, 6 August 2022. Obeying the convention of the institution, the programme commenced with the light lamping and Saraswati prayer. The commencement of the event was marked by the cordial welcome speech to the Chief Guest, Honourable Minister Department of Art, Youth and Culture, Government of Bihar, Sri Jitendra Kumar Rai, Vice Chairman, Sri Deval Singh, Secretary, Sri Amal Singh and Director, ISM, Dr. R. K. Singh presented by the Domain Leader of Finance, Assistant Professor, Ms. Shilpi Kavita. Succeeding that, the Director, ISM made students familiarised with the rules and regulations of the institute. In course of his deliberations, he talked about active cooperation of more than 20 committees, clubs and cells existed on the campus to improve holistic development of the personality. He said, “With the help a team of erudite faculty members and several activities the students in every domain could feel confident in achieving placement just even the starting of their last semester.” He asserted that ISM wanted to produce self-disciplined and self-reliant youth for the self-reliant nation. Thereafter Honourable minister congratulated the students for being a part of the best business school of Bihar and wished them for a bright future with a disciplined and dedicated team of this institute in amiable environment of the campus. He said to the students, “Government of Bihar is dedicated to assist such type of premier institute of the province in achieving excellence in education. He assured that the government would extend its all-possible assistance to ISM to be converted into Vikramshila University within a year. He asked them to solely focus on building their skills, which would help them to face the world in future.
Following that, the domain leaders of Finance, IT and Marketing took turns to introduce their members, related activities and exhorted the students to remain motivated against all odds. Thereafter, various clubs and societies were briefed by the moderated of the programme Ms. Shilpi Kavita. Eventually, the first day of the Deeksharambh came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Sushmita Soni.
International School of Management Patna, an institute of excellence, inspiring value-based education, research and development, observed the second day of “Deeksharambh” 2022 for only BCA and BJMC students on Wednesday, 7 September 2022. Honourable Minister Department of Agriculture, Government of Bihar, Sri Sudhakar Singh graced the inaugural session of the programme as chief guest. Also present were Director, ISM Patna, Professor, Dr. R. K. Singh, domain leaders and other faculty members. The chief guest was welcomed and felicitated by the director. It was attended by more than 250 newly joined BCA and BJMC students. The students were also accompanied by their guardians. At the same time about 400 PGDM, BBA and B. Com participants of the first day Deeksharambh programme were taken to Bihar Museum visit under the guidance of the domain leader of marketing, Assistant Professor, Mr. Nayan Ranjan Sinha., domain leader of HR, Assistant Professor, Ms. Pooja Dubey and Ms. Sushmita Soni.
Congratulating the students on getting admissions in ISM honourable minister said, “Dear students, all of are fortunate enough to start your graduation under the guidance of eminent economist of India, Professor, Dr. R. K. Singh Sir, and the expert faculty members in different domains. I am personally assured that in such a temple of learning, the dreams of your parents will certainly get fulfilled by the dedicated assistance of teachers and their long experiences of corporate world.” Appreciating the ambience of the institute he assured that the government would extend its all-possible assistance to convert it into Vikramshila University within a year.
Assuring the guardians, the Director said, “Now your wards are under the supervision of the whole ISM team, this is our responsibility to make them self-disciplined and self-reliant citizen of India.” Highlining the achievements towards academic excellence he said, “ISM is the first private business school in the province to provide NCC unit to the students from the first semester of their academic calendar. The institute runs more than 20 committees, clubs and cells existed on the campus to improve holistic development of the personality. To enhance the personality desirable for interviews and group discussions, the Domain Leaders of Finance, Marketing, Human Resource and IT convene related conclaves every year. The Cultural and Rangmanch committee is dedicated to connect these new generation youth to the socio-cultural traditions of India. Outcome of our efforts can be measured with increasing rate of placements annually.”
Succeeding that the experienced domain leaders and faculty members shared valuable information upon the respective industry norms with the students. They were briefed upon the multi-dimensional aspects of each programme both on the academic as well as industrial interest. Several activities were conducted by club heads of the institute. Informing the participants the domain leaders said, “After the end of two-day inaugural sessions of Deekharambh, they will be provided with an opportunity for the next two days to interact with several corporate leaders to learn how to connect principles and practices in real world scenario.”
The commencement of the event was marked by the cordial welcome speech presented by moderator of the events, domain leader and Assistant Professor of Finance, Ms. Shilpi Kavita. Eventually, the second day of the inaugural sessions of Deeksharambh was wrapped up with the vote of thanks proposed by Assistant Professor, Ms. Shweta Roy.
