International School of Management Patna by joining the global community celebrated Earth Day on Friday. The institute organised a series of events and activities aimed to raise awareness about environment protection and conservation. The celebrations were kicked off with plantation by Hon’ble Director, Professor (Dr) R. K. Singh symbolizing the commitment to environmental conservation. On this occasion, all the faculty members and some NSS volunteers were present over there.
In the inaugural session of the programme, Prof. Singh addressed the students emphasising on the theme for this year’s Earth Day, “Invest in our Planet: Protect our Future.” He highlighted the role that individuals, communities and corporate world can play in safeguarding the planet and urged students to make a commitment to reduce their carbon footprint. He also talked about the convention of ISM to felicitate its guests with saplings on each and every occasion of the campus and added that in this way, after all the institute distributes hundreds of plants every year. International School of Management Patna is committed to promoting sustainability and environmental conservation. The institute will continue to organize activities and initiatives that raise awareness and encourage sustainable practices.
Following the inaugural session, students participated in various cultural activities including eco-friendly fashion show, contemporary thematic dances under the direction of Ms. Sushmita Soni, reciting poems dedicated to the mother Earth. The BAJMC third semester students displayed video bites of the faculty members and students prepared under technical supervision of their class coordinator, Assistant Professor, Mr. Sanjay Bharati, an ex-associate of Network 18. The students discussed the impact of human activities on the environment and suggested ways in which individuals could reduce environmental pollution. On the occasion, Oscar Academy Awarded the Best Documentary Short film “The Elephant Whisperers” was screened by Assistant Professor of Mass Communication, Ms. Nitu Kumari to inculcate into the students a sense of ecology and its balances.
At the end of the celebration, the Chairperson of Cultural Committee, Ms. Shilpi Kavita said, “The celebration of Earth Day is an opportunity for us to reflect on our impact on the planet and take concrete steps towards a sustainable future. We hope that the activities organised by the Rangmanch Wing of Cultural Committee must have inspired our students to be responsible stewards of the environment and work towards a greener future.” The whole programme was moderated by Harsh Raj.
