ISM, Patna, May 12, 2026: In an initiative aimed at strengthening industry-academia integration, the MBA students of the International School of Management (ISM), Patna, participated in an industrial exposure visit to the manufacturing unit of Hero Cycles at Brahmpur, Patna. The visit offered students an immersive learning experience by allowing them to witness real-time industrial operations and managerial practices beyond conventional classroom teaching.
The visit was conducted under the guidance of Director Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Viveka Nand Sharma, Academic Head Prof. (Dr.) Sweta Rani, Training and Placement Officer, Ms. Neeru Kumari, and Head of the Department of Management, Dr. Pooja Dubey. This programme was organised under the coordination of Assistant Professor (Marketing), Dr. Anand Kumar Choudhary.
During the industrial tour, the MBA students explored the functioning of modern manufacturing systems and operational frameworks. They closely examined various stages of the production cycle, assembly line processes, inventory flow, quality assurance mechanisms, and workforce coordination practices. The visit enabled students to relate theoretical management principles to practical industrial execution.
One of the major highlights of the exposure visit was the practical understanding of contemporary management practices such as Kaizen, Lean Management, continuous process improvement, productivity optimisation, and waste reduction strategies. Students observed how these concepts are systematically implemented within an industrial environment to improve efficiency and operational performance.
Adding significant value to the learning experience, Plant Head Mr. Sujit Jha and HR Head Mr. Rahul Kumar interacted extensively with the students and shared insights into production planning, employee management, operational discipline, industrial coordination, and organizational effectiveness. Their interaction helped students gain a clearer understanding of the managerial challenges and strategic decision-making processes associated with large-scale manufacturing operations.
Addressing the importance of experiential learning, Coordinator Dr. Anand Kumar Choudhary stated that industrial visits provide management students with practical exposure essential for developing professional competence and managerial vision. He remarked that direct observation of industrial systems helps students strengthen analytical thinking, understand operational realities, and build industry readiness.
The participating students described the visit as highly informative and professionally enriching. They expressed that observing industrial practices firsthand enhanced their understanding of production management and gave them practical clarity regarding concepts studied during classroom sessions.
