The academic initiative aimed to strengthen students’ financial literacy, analytical thinking and strategic decision-making abilities while preparing them to navigate the complexities of the contemporary corporate world.

The guest lecture was delivered by Mr. Kundan Kumar, Company Secretary (CS), who introduced aspiring management professionals to the significance of financial modelling in evaluating business performance, forecasting financial outcomes, assessing investment opportunities and making informed managerial decisions.

During the interactive session, Mr. Kumar explained how financial modelling serves as an essential tool for transforming financial data into meaningful business insights. He highlighted the importance of understanding financial statements, revenue projections, cost analysis, profitability assessment, budgeting and risk evaluation in developing effective business strategies.

Emphasising the growing demand for financially competent professionals in the corporate sector, the resource person discussed the practical applications of financial models in business planning, investment appraisal, resource allocation and organisational decision-making. He encouraged students to develop a strong foundation in financial analysis, logical reasoning and data interpretation to enhance their professional competence and employability.

The lecture also underscored the relationship between financial forecasting and strategic management, demonstrating how evidence-based financial decisions contribute to organisational sustainability, operational efficiency and long-term business growth. Students were encouraged to look beyond theoretical concepts and develop the ability to interpret financial information from a managerial perspective.

The participating MBA and PGDM students appreciated the practical orientation of the guest lecture, particularly its emphasis on connecting classroom concepts with real-world financial decision-making. The session provided an opportunity to understand how financial information can be systematically analysed to evaluate business opportunities and address managerial challenges.

Expressing their appreciation for the insightful session, the students shared that the lecture had enhanced their understanding of the practical applications of financial modelling in business management. They particularly highlighted the significance of financial forecasting and risk assessment in making informed business decisions. The session also helped them recognise the importance of analytical thinking, financial acumen and decision-making skills in building successful careers in the corporate world.

The session also highlighted the importance of developing proficiency in spreadsheet-based financial analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving, thereby encouraging students to pursue continuous learning and practical skill development.

Highlighting the academic and professional relevance of the guest lecture, Dr. Pooja Dubey, Head of the Department of Management, emphasised that financial literacy and analytical competence are indispensable attributes of successful management professionals in today's competitive business environment.

She observed that management education must extend beyond textbook knowledge to cultivate the ability to analyse financial information, evaluate business alternatives and make responsible, evidence-based decisions.

Dr. Dubey further highlighted that financial modelling is not merely a technical exercise involving numbers and calculations but a strategic managerial instrument that enables professionals to anticipate business challenges, optimise resources, assess risks and identify opportunities for sustainable growth.

She encouraged MBA and PGDM students to strengthen their conceptual understanding of finance while acquiring practical competencies in financial forecasting, budgeting, data analysis and strategic planning. Such capabilities, she emphasised, would enhance their employability and prepare them to assume greater responsibilities in the corporate sector.
