On Wednesday, 19 July, under the prudent guidance of Director, Professor (Dr) R. K. Singh, the Department of IT, International School of Management Patna, organised an Industrial Visit to the Incubation Centre of IIT Patna, for the BCA fourth semester students. The trip was coordinated by IT Lab Instructor, Mr Sujeet Kumar Sharma under the leadership of the Domain Leader, Assistant Professor, Ms Jaya Kumari. The visit aimed at fostering a spirit of innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration among aspiring young minds.
The visit served as an exemplary opportunity for hundreds of BCA students to gain insights into the thriving startup ecosystem and the cutting-edge technologies being developed by young entrepreneurs. During the visit, the students were warmly welcomed by the members of the IIT Patna Incubation Centre, who were eager to share their knowledge and experiences. The students were given an extensive tour of the state-of-the-art facilities, which featured advanced laboratories, research centres, and collaboration spaces. They had the privilege of witnessing live demonstrations of innovative projects and prototypes, each highlighting the transformative impact of technology across diverse industries.
The highlight of the visit was the interactive session with the Demonstrator of the centre, T. C. Mishra, Mr Vikash and the incubation in-charge Mr Alok, where the students got an opportunity to know about Ultium, protier software for software simulation, the development of GPR files for PCB construction. Equipment used in the electrical and electronics lab, smart devices and micro-controller was demonstrated by them. They demonstrated the working of different circuits and printer functionality. This interaction also provided invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by budding entrepreneurs, inspiring the students to explore their own potential as future innovators. The students themselves were overwhelmed by the exposure and shared their reports on the visit to the IT and Training and Placement Departments of ISM.
Ms Jaya Kumari expressed her delight at the successful industrial visit. She stated, “We believe that exposing our students to real-world scenarios and fostering a spirit of innovation is paramount to their personal and professional growth. The visit to the IIT Patna Incubation Centre was an eye-opening experience, igniting the entrepreneurial spirit among our students and encouraging them to think beyond the conventional.”
