On Saturday, 5 August, under the guidance of Director, Dr. Vijay Bahadur Singh, the NSS Cell of the International School of Management Patna joined hands with Mahindra Finance to host a momentous Mega Plantation Drive aimed at fostering environmental sustainability and promoting a greener future. The event saw overwhelming participation from Honourable Director, Admin, faculty members, students and Mahindra Finance volunteers who enthusiastically contributed to the noble cause. The Chairman, of ISM Patna, Sri Samrendra Singh, Vice-chairman, Sri Deval Singh and Secretary, Sri Amal Singh graced the event as chief guests.
The Mega Plantation Drive was organized with the primary objective of creating awareness about environmental conservation, mitigating the impact of climate change, and instilling a sense of responsibility among the youth towards safeguarding the planet. About 30 Mahindra Finance volunteers planted more than 100 plants on the campus with the help of NSS volunteers of the Institute. The event also aimed to enhance the overall green cover in the region and improve the ecological balance.
The event commenced with an inspiring speech by VC, Sri Deval Singh who shared valuable insights into the importance of environmental conservation and the pivotal role of youth in shaping a better future. Subsequently, all the volunteers, armed with saplings and gardening tools, participated in the plantation drive at a designated site within the ISM campus.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Mahindra Finance for this significant initiative," said Ms Shilpi Kavita, the Chairperson of NSS Cell and Domain Leader of the Department of Finance and Economics at ISM. “Planting trees not only contributes to mitigating the effects of pollution but also provides a healthier and happier environment for everyone. This partnership has further strengthened our commitment to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.”
Mr. Rohit Anand, representing Mahindra Finance and his colleagues Mr. Ritesh Krishna, Rakesh Twari, Mr. Shivendu Vimal, Ms. Amrita Shilpee and others, expressed his delight at collaborating with the NSS Cell of ISM for this noble cause. He stated, “Mahindra Finance is dedicated to making a positive impact on society, and we are delighted to join hands with the International School of Management Patna for this plantation drive. By working together, we can significantly contribute to the environment and create a greener world for generations to come.”
The Mega Plantation Drive witnessed an overwhelming response from participants who actively planted a diverse range of saplings, including native trees and shrubs. The event also provided an excellent opportunity for the students and volunteers to learn about the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable practices. Other members of the NSS Cell, Ms. Vandana Verma and Mr. Rahul Kumar Sinha played an important role in the coordination of this programme.
