ISM Patna, August 10, 2026: Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of a clean, healthy, and responsible India, the NSS Cell of the International School of Management (ISM), Patna, under the leadership of Vice Chairman, Shri Deval Singh, is observing Cleanliness Fortnight 2026 (Swachchhata Pakhwada 2026) through a series of awareness-driven, creative, and community-engagement activities aimed at promoting cleanliness, environmental responsibility, and civic consciousness among students.
The fortnight-long initiative commenced on August 6, 2026, in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Department of Youth Affairs, Government of India, and Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna. Undergraduate students and NSS volunteers of the institute are actively participating in the campaign, reinforcing the message that cleanliness extends beyond institutional responsibility and requires sustained collective participation and a strong sense of civic responsibility.
As part of the ongoing observance, the NSS Cell organised a series of student-centric competitions and activities on August 10, 2026, including painting, debate and discussion, and essay-writing competitions centred on the themes of cleanliness, hygiene, environmental awareness, and responsible citizenship.
The activities provided students with a platform to express their ideas and perspectives on the significance of Swachchhata through art, argument, discussion, and written expression. The initiative also sought to encourage young people to move beyond awareness and translate the principles of cleanliness into responsible everyday practices.
The Swachchhata Pakhwada at ISM is being organised under the guidance of the Director, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Academic Head, Dr. Sweta Rani, and the IQAC Coordinator, Ms. Neeru Kumari. The activities are being coordinated by Mr. Basuki Nath Upadhyay, NSS Programme Officer, who has been facilitating active participation of students and NSS volunteers throughout the campaign.
The observance will continue with a diverse range of activities designed to combine awareness with community participation. The forthcoming programmes include an expert talk, workshop and seminar, plantation and cleanliness drives, and a street play (Nukkad Natak) on the theme of Swachchhata Pakhwada.
Through these activities, ISM Patna aims to sensitise students to the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, protecting the environment and embracing sustainable habits. The campaign also seeks to strengthen the spirit of volunteerism and encourage students to become active contributors to cleanliness initiatives both within the campus and in the wider community.
The Swachchhata Pakhwada initiative reflects the institution's commitment to nurturing socially responsible young citizens by integrating academic engagement with community service, environmental consciousness and the values of collective responsibility.
