ISM Patna MBA–PGDM Students Get a Taste of Industry at Dadiji Snacks

ISM Patna, August 11, 2026: Bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world business practices, the International School of Management (ISM), Patna, organised an industry visit to Dadiji Snacks Private Limited (DSPL) at Arai Main Road, Daniawan, Bihar, for first-year MBA and PGDM students on Tuesday. The visit provided the budding management professionals with practical exposure to industrial operations, production processes, human resource practices, and the functioning of the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

During the visit, the students gained first-hand insights into the production and operational processes associated with a wide range of traditional Indian namkeen, snacks, chips, and other food products. The industrial exposure enabled them to observe how theoretical concepts of management are translated into day-to-day practices across different functional areas of a manufacturing organisation.

The students had an enriching interaction with Mr. Gautam Kumar, Director, DSPL, and Mr. Vijay, HR Manager, who familiarised them with various aspects of the organisation’s functioning. The interaction covered production management, workforce coordination, quality consciousness, human resource practices, supply-chain operations, marketing considerations, and the challenges involved in managing a competitive food-processing business.

The interactive session also provided students with an opportunity to raise questions and understand the managerial competencies required to operate successfully in a dynamic business environment. The industry representatives encouraged the students to develop a practical outlook, professional discipline, adaptability, communication skills, and an understanding of evolving market expectations alongside their academic learning.

Sharing their feedback, the students described the visit as an insightful and engaging learning experience that helped them connect management theories with actual industrial practices. They particularly appreciated the opportunity to observe the production environment closely and interact directly with industry professionals. According to the students, such exposure strengthened their understanding of organisational processes while giving them a clearer perspective on workplace expectations and career preparedness.

The industry visit was jointly coordinated by Mr. Sudhir Sinha, Head of the Department of Commerce, and Ms. Neeru Kumari, Training and Placement Officer, ISM Patna. They facilitated the academic-industry interaction and encouraged the students to make the most of the experiential learning opportunity.

Highlighting the key takeaways from the visit, Dr. Pooja Dubey, Head of the Department of Management, emphasised that industry exposure is an essential component of management education as it enables students to understand how concepts related to production, operations, marketing, finance, and human resources work together within an organisation. He encouraged the students to critically observe industrial practices and relate their experiences to concepts discussed in the classroom.

Ms. Neeru Kumari underscored the importance of industry readiness and advised students to use such visits to understand employers’ expectations and identify the skills required for their future careers. She stressed that academic knowledge, when complemented by practical exposure, communication abilities, adaptability, and professional competence, can significantly enhance students’ employability and prepare them for the demands of the corporate world.

The visit formed part of ISM Patna’s continuing efforts to strengthen industry–academia engagement and experiential learning, enabling management students to move beyond textbooks and gain meaningful exposure to contemporary business and industrial practices.
