Practical Media Training: ISM BA(JMC) Students Interact with Experts at News Channel

ISM, Patna, May 25, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment towards experiential learning and industry-oriented media education, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the International School of Management (ISM), Patna, organized an educational visit for BA(JMC) students to Bihari News on May 25, 2026. The visit provided students with valuable practical exposure to the functioning of a digital news channel, newsroom operations, content production, and contemporary media practices.

During the visit, the students had an insightful interaction with Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Founder and Producer of Bihari News, who shared his professional experiences and explained the evolving dynamics of digital journalism, news production, media ethics, and the growing influence of regional news platforms in the contemporary media landscape. He encouraged the students to remain creative, technically skilled, and socially responsible while pursuing careers in journalism and mass communication.

The students were allowed to closely observe various aspects of newsroom functioning, including news scripting, video production, editing processes, camera handling, content management, and broadcasting techniques. The interaction enabled the students to understand the practical challenges and professional standards required in the rapidly changing media industry.

The educational visit was coordinated by the Technical Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Assistant Professor Mr. Satish Kumar, who guided the students throughout the programme and emphasized the significance of practical exposure in strengthening classroom learning. He remarked that such industrial and media visits help students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and professional media practices while enhancing their confidence and communication skills.

The programme was conducted under the leadership and academic guidance of Director, Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kumar, Dean and Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Viveka Nand Sharma, Academic Head, Prof. (Dr.) Sweta Rani, Training and Placement Officer, Ms. Neeru Kumari, and Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Dr. Sunita.
